Does repotting help a Christmas cactus live longer and bloom better?

Post by abodelook »

Yes, though, one should do it carefully and not too frequent. Christmas Cacti like to be a little root bound and therefore repotting should be every 2-3 years or when the plants have grown slowly. Potting mix should be well drained, preferably succulent mix. Repotting resuscitates nutrients and enhances root health that favors prolonged blooming. Repotting should be avoided at the blooming period since this may stress the plant and may cut off flowering.
